Hello. I'm Richard Ager sitting in for Beth Carroll.
Welcome to this special edition of New Hampshire Outlook.
Franklin Pierce served as President during a difficult time in this nation's history, as northern and southern states engaged in a bitter debate over slavery.
We'll talk to the author of a new book about Pierce in a few minutes, and discuss his place in history - but first, we'll take a look at a new exhibit on the life of Franklin Pierce.
